Happy Friday Everyone!
Hopefully we'll see you at the show on Saturday.
Weather is beautiful today in Boston.
The WILD ZERO stream song for today is "Terror on the High Seas" and one more tomorrow!
The Stream isn't working today from some WONKY myspace Glitch! But should be up. If not by tonite, you'll have an extera song tomorrow.
WILD ZERO is really psyched about our CD Release. Of course you know about it, I haven't been able to shut up about it. But we're proud, excited, and READY TO ROCK.
Thanks for all the help so far!

It's been a long time since Guns N' Roses have released an album of new material. Everybody knows this, but it's a fact that bears repeating.....

Interesting thoughts on iTunes

iTunes iSbogus: "
People are paying for songs on the iTunes Music Store because they think it's a good way to support musicians. But iTunes misses a huge opportunity. Instead of creating a system that gets virtually all of fans' money directly to artists-- finally possible with the internet-- iTunes takes a big step backwards. Apple calls iTunes 'revolutionary' but record companies are using the service to force the same exploitive and unfair business model onto a new medium. It's too expensiveLet's start simple: the iTunes Music Store is not a good value for customers. Apple says many users are buying whole 'albums' for $8-$12 each. That's less than the $16 store price, but used CDs at Amazon or ebay cost $5, and those come with liner notes. If you don't care about liner notes, you can burn the CD from a friend for 25 cents and send the musician a buck. In both cases, you end up with a real CD, and you can always use iTunes to rip it onto your computer or mp3 player. And you don't have to deal with restrictions on how you use it.Lossy.

O'Reilly -- What Is Web 2.0

O'Reilly -- What Is Web 2.0: "
What Is Web 2.0Design Patterns and Business Models for the Next Generation of Softwareby Tim O'Reilly09/30/2005The bursting of the dot-com bubble in the fall of 2001 marked a turning point for the web. Many people concluded that the web was overhyped, when in fact bubbles and consequent shakeouts appear to be a common feature of all technological revolutions. Shakeouts typically mark the point at which an ascendant technology is ready to take its place at center stage. The pretenders are given the bum's rush, the real success stories show their strength, and there begins to be an understanding of what separates one from the other.
The concept of 'Web 2.0' began with a conference brainstorming session between O'Reilly and MediaLive International. Dale Dougherty, web pioneer and O'Reilly VP, noted that far from having 'crashed', the web was more important than ever, with exciting new applications and sites popping up with surprising regularity. What's more, the companies that had survived the collapse seemed to have some things in common. Could it be that the dot-com collapse marked some kind of turning point for the web, such that a call to action such as 'Web 2.0' might make sense? We agreed that it did, and so the Web 2.0 Conference was born.In the year and a half since, the term 'Web 2.0' has clearly taken hold, with more than 9.5 million citations in Google. But there's still a huge amount of disagreement about just what Web 2.0 means, with some people decrying it as a meaningless marketing buzzword, and others accepting it as the new conventional wisdom. This article is an attempt to clarify just what we mean by Web 2.0.In

Podbop!

Podbop - Information: "About Podbop
What is Podbop? Let's look at it like this: Old way: Looking up concerts in your town on an event site, googling 100 different bands, tracking down an MP3 for each band, and then deciding which show you want to go to. The Podbop way: Type in a city, get MP3s, discover a band you like, and go see them.

WILD ZERO : First CD Review!

bmosworld.net: "WILD ZERO - s/t
Curve of the Earth Records

Before I got it, I was optimistically curious. When it first arrived, and I looked at the song titles, I drastically reduced my level of expectation. 'Battle Royale', 'Curse of the Red Tiger', 'Burnt Knife', 'Terror On the High Seas' this sounds like Loverboy material, or maybe the soundtrack for the next WWE event. But, I know the drummer, who sent me an advance copy of this soon-to-be-released disc, has better taste than that, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt and slipped into the old CD player. And Im damn glad I did. Talk about high energy I could almost see the sparks flying out of the stereo. Equal parts Guns'n'Roses and Misfits but with a decidedly Boston accent, Wild Zero don't pull any punches. If your ears don't feel like they're bleeding and you don't have the sensation of a combat boot kicking you in the chest, then you're just not paying attention. I'm not crazy about the lyrics, but lyrics are really not the point. The point is these boys play loud, fast and aggressive with a good ear for a hook. If you're looking to get in a fight, and you need a little inspiration, put this on real loud and just wait for your blood to start boiling."

WILD ZERO Bio and Press Kit

'You know what my message is to the people? Some of you fuckers need a crack in the mouth. That's the message, plain and simple.'
– Harlem Greenwood, Coke Dealer

'Rock n' roll is the last flesh ritual, and it is only truly successful if it can breed black mayhem, otherwise it's just music, and who the fuck needs that?'
– Paul Hullabaloo, The Cringe

Yeah, there's a theme here. Not that you have to pay attention to evil, right-brained rock n' roll hucksters, but pretty soon you'll be turning 40, one of them lazy zeroes cursing the day you politely passed on your chance to crack a man in the mouth. So stake your claim now, Jack – write your will in your own blood, throw expensive furniture off of your roof, steal fistfuls of panties and then light 'em on fire. Hell, run screaming and naked into heavy traffic to see how long you can flirt with danger before vomiting all over your shoes.

Of course, you could just throw on this maniacal album instead. Wild Zero's self-titled debut (recorded, engineered, and mixed by ex-Cracktorch and Coke Dealer band mates Marc Schleicher and Nick Zampiello) is one of them quintessential, speed dealin', Americana rawk records that does the crazy work for you. An album like this can only come from a place like Boston, and can only come from a group of seasoned East Coast veterans sewn together by the threads of filth, carnage, apathy, and electricity. It's all greasy hair and neck tattoos, danger and denim, lightning and leather. Or something equally Misfits, AC/DC, and The Hellacopters, dig? So remember, it ain't that you can't be a zero, it's that you have to be a Wild Zero. There's a big difference. Come find out what it is.

It is a video that is affected by the weather and local time from the position of the viewer. We want to create new synergies between the music, the video and the surroundings of the viewer. Every little change in your environment ensures that you will never see the same video twice. The look of the video might slightly change within an hour, but will have a whole new character in a few months.

NYC Radio The Night John Lennon Died (mp3)

Here's a dial scan of New York City's FM band from 25 years ago (MP3). It was recorded shortly after the news of John Lennon's murder broke. The recording was made by an unknown listener, and it was included on our CD compilation, Radio Archival Oddities, Vol. 2.
